Today we are
dealing with the new structure of the
unit.
Read this
mail carefully to understand the new structure and the activities you are going
to do.
FIRST CONDITIONAL
We use the first conditional to talk a about real possibility in the future.
Imagine you
have planned to ride your bike this afternoon but there are clouds in the sky.
What can you say?
If it rains, I will stay at
home.(Si llueve,
me quedaré en casa. Es muy probable que si llueve me
quede en casa)
If it doesn’t rain, I will ride
my bike.( Si
no llueve me iré con mi bici. Es muy probable que si no llueve vaya con mi bici)
- Activity 1: Watch this video to learn the use of the FIRST CONDITIONAL.
As you can see, we are thinking of a
particular condition in the future, and its consequence or result.
CONDITION: If it rains, … (IF + PRESENT SIMPLE)
CONSEQUENCE:…, I will
stay at home. (WILL+ INFINITIVE)
- Activity 2: Look at this sentences and think about if they are conditions or consequences. Write them in your notebook:
- If I study,....:
- ...,I will pass the exam:
- I will buy a car,...:
- ....., If I win the lottery:
- Activity 3: Read the story “The dessert Island” on page 58
again, and write all the first
conditional sentences you can find in your notebook. Write who says the sentences in each case.
- Activity 4: Read the grammar box on page
59. Then copy the TIP about first conditional in your notebook.
