Good morning! How much do you know about the solar system? Let’s do a reading activity. Open your books on page 70 and read
the text about the solar system.
Activity 1: After watching the video, read and choose the correct option:
Copy the sentences in your notebook.
We use the SECOND CONDITIONAL to talk about real situations/ hypothetical -not real situations.
To form the SECOND CONDITIONAL we use IF+ PRESENT/PAST, for the condition and WOUL/WILL + VERB for the result or consequence.
We can/can’t use COULD or
MIGHT instead of WOULD.
We use was/were in the IF
clause, even if the subject is I, He,
She or It.
Activity 2: Read the story “A voyage around the solar system” on page 66 again, and write all the second conditional sentences
you can find in your notebook. Write who
says the sentences in each case.
Activity 3: Read the grammar box on the top of
page 67. Then copy the TIP about
second conditional in your notebook.
